To think of the Eastern Plains of Colombia without imagining the people and creatures that inhabit them is impossible. The land of the Llanos is a place of men and horses, where its culture—cultura llanera—is inextricably tied to its landscapes. The traditions of the Llaneros have been passed down through generations. Some, like long journeys across the plains, are becoming rare, while others, such as llanera gastronomy, remain very much alive today.
